Dear Hokage - In Regards to the Chuunin Exams

Dear Hokage,
I am writing to you in the hopes that you can intervene on behalf of my squad and I that were set to participate in the chuunin exams, Kodoku, Uchiha Noboru, and myself Uchiha Yuki. During the course of the forest training exercise numerous ninja seemingly from Kirigakure started whole sale slaughtering people in the exams upwards of two third of them being killed. My own squad met such a bothersome group, but not just that, we were accosted by missing ninja who sought to steal the sharingan and rinnegan from us. They fled once I had cut my own eyes to prevent them falling into the wrong hands and being used against the village, and even though we had a strong desire to continue Uchiha Kanae ordered us to fail the exam, out of desire to not see us die. However the Examination is still ongoing, and we Konoha genin wish to prove ourselves worthy. In any case numerous accusations were thrown my way, and well I'd like to argue endlessly upon them it seems a hopeless thing, and though I can now see again thanks to a treatment by Masami I have not produced the sharingan since damaging my eyes so very badly; I would simply like to say that for Noborus sake we should continue. He is getting too old to continue taking the chuunin exams, and he is perhaps the most worthy person I know of the title chuunin, indeed no one has made a single complaint about his conduct in the exams. Its been years since Noboru graduated the academy unlike Kodoku and I who are attending these exams for the first time since it was offered after our graduation. I do not think the chuunin exams exist, to prevent people who should be Chuunin, from becoming Chuunin.

In short due to interference in the exams I ask that my entire squad, or at least Noboru be allowed to continue. He wishes to be kage one day and taking away his chance to prove himself is a disservice to that dream. It is my hope that its as I was told, that the Kage stands for every person who joins Konoha and protecting them and their dreams, the will of fire itself.

Dear Yuki,

It is not just one Kage making decisions in these cases.
While I myself have been eager to see you promoted this time around, the complete mission report leaves this decision entirely out of my hand. Your individual skill is indeed impressive, but you are right not to pursue that argument any further.
On the topic of your assailants. We are aware of the events that transpired. We had several Hyuga observe from outside each gate - closest to yours Masami herself. It is unfortunate that your squad have failed the trials but worry not, you can always try next year, or may even be promoted before then knowing your hard work and dedication to your village.
The lesson to learn this time around is that you need to support your team, no matter your faith in your own skill.
As for Noboru, it is unfortunate that he is not making it this time around, but round two is explicitly said to be team effort. It is your team that failed together, not a single person and as such I cannot allow single individuals to proceed either.
Rest assured that your recent promotion to Advanced Genin has not been a mere gift, you deserved and achieved it. Noboru is likely to receive the same soon.

Dear Hokage,
There is no training left for me to undergo that is considered appropriate for a genin. I have served the village to the best of my abilities, lead squads with a near perfect record of success though one mission did require a bit of back up. I have risked my life, and body on numerous occasions for the village. If the chuunin exams are allowed to be infiltrated, their symbolism is lost in the process. As to teamwork, I am the only one among the villages genin to create jutsu to support others aside those in the medical field explicitly, to the point of having shared my sharingan with others, Masami relying on that when facing down stronger ninja as recent reports will reveal (that is facing down so called S rank missing nin, relying on my support). I do not lack for teamwork, I do not lack for intelligence and commitment. I have always conducted myself in the field to the best of my ability.
I ask that you test me yourself, test Noboru yourself. We in the uchiha are taught that we are Konoha's blade, and shield.. in the light and the dark; we wish to be acknowledged to better serve the village, and the restraints of rank for me especially are being felt in full. I have nowhere left to progress, no jutsu outside the medical field to study that I can at least acquire a teacher for. But I have so much farther to go, so much more to learn and so much farther to progress, I can see it right in front of me only to be held down by labels.
Give us a mission fit for Chuunin, if we should perish on it, if we should fail, we would rather die on the right path then waiting for the next "exam"; they (the exams) are a means to and end to test prowess yes, but being shinobi is not about some made up test in a "safe" (in so far as there is support nearby) place its about doing real things. If the chuunin exams are hurting the progress of those in our village, that needs to be dealt with; do not allow body harvesting missing nin to determine the fate of leafs future...
