Skill Rules Empty
PostSubject: Skill Rules   Skill Rules Icon_minitimeSun Apr 09, 2017 4:55 am

Every shinobi has different skills that they practice and chose to focus on during their career. Depending on the path you want to take your shinobi, you may chose different skills. Each skill is rolled with a 1d20 then has the total skill level you have applied to it. Every character is required to have their skills on their biographies with the provided table at the bottom of this post. We have added in the code required to make the table for easy use. Depending on your level, and rank, you have a maximum number of skill points. There is also maximum number of skill points you may apply to each skill, and depending on your level in each, you may obtain bonus.

Each Level = 3x Skill Points
Level 10: +20 Skill Points
Level 20: +20 Skill Points
Level 30: +20 Skill Points
(Max Skill Points in any single skill = Character Level +5 - Max 40)

(Skillpoints gained at Level 10, 20 and 30 stack. (E.G A level 20 has +40 skill points and a level 30 has +60)

Perception) Listening / Location (VS Deception / Concealment)
Perception is the organization, identification, and interpretation of sensory information in order to represent and understand the environment. All perception involves signals in the nervous system, which in turn result from physical or chemical stimulation of the sense organs. For example, vision involves light striking the retina of the eye, smell is mediated by odor molecules, and hearing involves pressure waves. Perception is not the passive receipt of these signals, but is shaped by learning, memory, expectation, and attention. Perception can be split into two processes. Firstly, processing sensory input, which transforms these low-level information to higher-level information (e.g., extracts shapes for object recognition). Secondly, processing which is connected with a person's concepts and expectations (knowledge) and selective mechanisms (attention) that influence perception

Tracking) Searching / Locating (VS Concealment)
Tracking in hunting and ecology is the science and art of observing animal tracks and other signs, with the goal of gaining understanding of the landscape and the thing being tracked (quarry). A further goal of tracking is the deeper understanding of the systems and patterns that make up the environment surrounding and incorporating the tracker. The practice of tracking may focus on, but is not limited to, the patterns and systems of the local animal life and ecology. Trackers must be able to recognize and follow animals through their tracks, signs, and trails, also known as spoor. Spoor may include tracks, scat, feathers, kills, scratching posts, trails, drag marks, sounds, scents, marking posts, the behavior of other animals, habitat cues, and any other clues about the identity and whereabouts of the quarry.

Genin) +5 to Tracking when in their own Country
Chuunin) +10 to Tracking when in their own Country
Jounin) +15 to Tracking when in their own Country

Village Lore) Own Village Information
Lore is a familiarity, awareness or understanding of someone or something, such as facts, information, descriptions, or skills, which is acquired through experience or education by perceiving, discovering, or learning. Lore can refer to a theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. It can be implicit (as with practical skill or expertise) or explicit (as with the theoretical understanding of a subject); it can be more or less formal or systematic. Village Lore specifically focuses around the happenings, and people within one's own village.

Genin) +5 to Village Lore of their own village information
Chuunin) +10 to Village Lore of their own village information
Jounin) +15 to Village Lore of their own village information

World Lore) All world events
Lore is a familiarity, awareness or understanding of someone or something, such as facts, information, descriptions, or skills, which is acquired through experience or education by perceiving, discovering, or learning. Lore can refer to a theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. It can be implicit (as with practical skill or expertise) or explicit (as with the theoretical understanding of a subject); it can be more or less formal or systematic. World Lore focuses on current events, and things happening within the world.

(DM Descretion)

Concealment) Hiding / Silent (VS Perception / Tracking)
Concealment is the use of any combination of materials, coloration, or illumination for concealment, either by making animals or objects hard to see (crypsis), or by disguising them as something else (mimesis). The majority of concealment methods aim for crypsis, often through a general resemblance to the background, high contrast disruptive coloration, eliminating shadow, and countershading. Not only using other objects, one can do something as simple as hide in a tree and lay along the branch, allowing themselves to become concealed. Sometimes, something as simple as moving quietly can be enough to confuse a person.

40 Skill Points) +2 to Next ATK/DEF Roll when Successfully Hiding

Deception) Disguises / Bluff (VS Perception)
Deception is the act of propagating beliefs in things that are not true, or not the whole truth (as in half-truths or omission). Deception can involve dissimulation, propaganda, and sleight of hand, as well as distraction, camouflage, or concealment. Deception is a major relational transgression that often leads to feelings of betrayal and distrust between relational partners. Deception violates relational rules and is considered to be a negative violation of expectations. Most people expect friends, relational partners, and even strangers to be truthful most of the time. If people expected most conversations to be untruthful, talking and communicating with others would require distraction and misdirection to acquire reliable information.

40 Skill Points) +2 to next ATK vs Target that is Deceived
(DM Discretion)

Clarity) Understanding / Coherent
Clarity is the use of ones mind to define what is real and fake, in real time. If effected by a genjutsu, one that is well versed in the understand of clarity will have an easier time to push out the genjutsu, allowing themselves to fight for longer. The understanding of clarity is quite in depth, and one that follows clarity is sometimes said to be a peace with themselves, and be quite intelligent themselves. It is hard to learn clarity and one must spend their time to focus and delve deep into it.

20 Skill Points) +1 to DEF vs Genjutsu, +2 to Breaking Genjutsu (If Stunned)
40 Skill Points) +2 to DEF vs Genjutsu, +4 to Breaking Genjutsu (If Stunned)

First Aid) Medical Jutsu / Bandaging
First aid is the assistance given to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, and/or promote recovery. It includes initial intervention in a serious condition prior to being able to give professional medical help, such as performing CPR or entering surgery, as well as the complete treatment of minor conditions, such as applying a plaster to a cut. First aid is generally performed by the layperson, with many people trained in providing basic levels of first aid, and others willing to do so from acquired knowledge. Mental health first aid is an extension of the concept of first aid to cover mental health.

40 Skill Points) 1/8 of First Aid roll applied to Medical Jutsu (Rounded Up)

Tools) Traps / Ninja Wire
Using certain tools can take some time to learn and even more time to master. Tools focuses on the use of specialized ninja tools, and even simple ones, to allow for ones arsenal to be explained. It is simple to use a kunai and throw it at a target, but to fling it in a fan motion to allow for it to curve and strike a certain point, takes a lot more practice. Setting a trap with Shuriken, Kunai and Ninja wire is also something that is seen often, but to effectively do it, you must first study the way of using all in uni-sync. Weight distribution, wind speed etc all come into action when using them practically.
20 Skill Points) +1 to ATK Rolls when using Tools (Applies to all thrown Tools)
40 Skill Points) +2 to ATK Rolls when using Tools (Applies to all thrown Tools)

Weaponry) Weapon Negatives / Damage
Weaponry is the understanding to use any device with intent to inflict damage or harm to living beings, structures, or systems. Weapons are used to increase the efficacy and efficiency of activities such as hunting, crime, law enforcement, self-defense, and warfare. In a broader context, weapons may be construed to include anything used to gain a strategic, material or mental advantage over an adversary. While just about any ordinary objects such as sticks, stones, cars, or pencils can be used as weapons, many are expressly designed for the purpose – ranging from simple implements such as clubs, swords, scythes and spears.

20 Skill Points) -1 Weapon Negatives, Rank Damage 1 Rank Higher (Character, Not Weapon)
40 Skill Points) -2 Weapon Negatives, Rank Damage 1 Rank Higher (Character, Not Weapon)

Hand Seals) Learning Bonuses / DMG Bonus
Hand Seals are used to perform many ninjutsu, genjutsu, and other secret arts other than taijutsu. The exact amount of chakra necessary to perform a technique is manipulated through hand seals. There are different sequences of hand seals for every technique, requiring memorization. While techniques may require a number of hand seals to work, a skilled ninja can use less or even one to perform the same technique. Although rare, it is possible for a shinobi to be able to do hand seals with just one hand. It is also possible for shinobi to form hand seals with one of their hands while using the hand of another person as a substitute for the opposite one. Certain elemental releases often end in the hand seals they are affiliated with. For example, Fire Release often ends with Tiger, Earth and Wood Releases often end with the Snake hand seals.

40 Skill Points) +2 to Learning Rolls, +1d4 HP DMG Universal/Jutsu, +1 Jutsu Lesson Per Week

Chakra Control) Learning Bonuses / CP Negative
Because chakra takes time and a great deal of training to gradually build up, the key to its use is not actually having chakra but instead being able to sufficiently control and conserve it. This is called chakra control. In order to have good chakra control, a ninja should only mold as much chakra as they need to perform a given ability. If they mold more chakra than is needed, the excess chakra is wasted and they will tire out faster from its loss. If they don't mold enough chakra, a technique will not be performed effectively, if at all, likely creating problems in a combat situation. General training methods for improving one's molding and manipulation of chakra are the Leaf Concentration, Tree Climbing, and Water Surface Walking exercises. A good way to build up chakra in the body is to spin it into a tight spiral; Whether to spin the chakra left or right is dependent on the way the user's hair grows. Hand seals are often used to manipulate chakra more easily, allowing shinobi to execute their techniques faster and more effectively. Shinobi who are extremely skilled at chakra control often specialize in genjutsu or become medical-nin.
